"You mean it, but you're already thinking ahead, aren't you." Arix unfolded his arms, took a step towards Rishi. It looked the beginning of a casual little stroll in no particular direction, and Shory knew it was anything but. "How you're going to use this little stand of yours, later. How grateful Shory's going to be to you because of it."
"What--no." Rishi retreated a step of his own, found himself bumping into Ystav at his back. "Stop twisting it. I wouldn't--"
"You would." Arix wasn't looking at Rishi now. He'd turned his gaze back on Shory. "Shory will thank you, later," Arix said, still speaking to Rishi even as he moved back to Shory, facing him this time, his hands rising to brush Shory's shoulders. "It'll be awkward and sweet--" his fingers chucked Shory beneath the chin once more-- "and you'll say you would have done it for anyone. But then you'll add, especially for you. And you'll be wondering how long it'll be before Shory rewards your noble act with the kind of gratitude you really want from him." Now Arix shot his gaze at Rishi once again, lips twisting into a deeper, unpleasant smile. "You really could cut out all that middle part right now, you know."
